About Us
Blue Star Families Chicagoland is a local chapter of the national nonprofit Blue Star Families, dedicated to strengthening military families and the communities that support them. The chapter supports more than 5,300 military-connected families locally and serves a region where Chicagoland is home to more than 450,000 veteran families.
Through programs, partnerships, and community events, Blue Star Families Chicagoland helps ensure that service members, veterans, caregivers, and their families feel welcomed, connected, and supported. The chapter works closely with community organizations, civic leaders, and corporate partners to create opportunities that foster belonging, address challenges such as food security and caregiver support, and celebrate the contributions of military families.
Blue Star Families Chicagoland also partners with organizations connected to Naval Station Great Lakes and the broader veteran community throughout Illinois, helping bridge military and civilian communities while strengthening support systems for those who serve and their families.
