DESCRIPTION:January Member Luncheon: Housing in Will County: Insights & Perspectives\n\n\n\nPlease join us for the first Member Luncheon of 2025 as Will County Center for Economic Development President & CEO Doug Pryor presents on the state of Will County housing. \n\n	Housing Inventory   Inventories are down   not enough houses to sell\n	Housing Sales   Prices have continued to accelerate up about 40% pre-Covid to today\n	Will County AGAIN #1 in IL building single-family homes   we are dominating!\n	Since 2000 Will County has added 66\,000 single-family homes.  In the same timeframe we have added only 6\,000 multi-family units.  Multi-family in WC is 13% of housing stock.  In DuPage County it is 29%\; in Lake County it is 22%.  Just to catch Lake County\, we would need to add 30\,000 multi-family units before we build one more single family home.\n\n \n\nDoug Pryor\n\nDoug Pryor is the President and CEO of the Will County Center for Economic Development. In this role\, he is focused on designing and implementing strategies to strengthen Will County's position as a premier business destination for large-scale\, regionally impactful investments\, while also enhancing the County's capabilities in innovation and new business development.\n\nIn his time leading the CED's business recruitment and retention programs\, Doug has helped deliver projects totaling more than $4 billion in investment in a wide range of industries including energy generation\, corporate headquarters\, electric vehicle manufacturing\, transportation and logistics\, food production\, and retail.\n\nDoug is also an Instructor of Economics and Statistics at Dominican University and currently serves on the State of Illinois Enterprise Zone Board. Prior to joining the CED\, he was the County Administrator for Grundy County and Vice President of the Grundy Economic Development Council. Doug is a native of Joliet\, a graduate of the University of Illinois-Springfield with a bachelor's degree in economics and holds an MBA from Dominican University.
