2015 CWW April Lunch "Quiet Power: The Key to Speaking Up for Yourself"
The CWW is pleased to welcome Dr. Kate Webster as she shares with us "Quiet Power: The Key to Speaking Up for Yourself" presented by Dr. Kate Webster
Have you ever noticed when a woman speaks her mind in the workplace she can be called the "B" word, or if she doesn't she might be called a "door mat"? As a professional woman, when faced with a challenging situation, it can be difficult to communicate clearly without being considered too aggressive or passive. Dealing with difficult personalities and broaching tough topics takes skill, tact and confidence. This presentation will provide you with an overview of key skills to take control of the situation, and manage your reactions and navigate problematic interactions with ease. You will learn about four communication styles and how they apply to you; effective communication strategies that fit your temperament and personality; and verbal & non-verbal tools to negotiate difficult discussions.
