2015 Joliet Area Young Professionals Wellness Expectations Kevin Leverence
We have secured Kevin Leverence, a tremendous local speaker who is a personal trainer in the area that can provide some quality tips on nutrition and exercise. He’ll help you develop your Wellness Expectations and some personal goals for 2015.
The help doesn’t stop there though, he’ll show you how to set up the necessary steps for achievement.
There is a second component to this talk though. Kevin was a motor vehicle operator assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment. In 2004, 2/24 was deployed to an area south of Baghdad known as the Triangle of Death. Kevin has various stories of combat engagements with enemy forces including an IED blast that destroyed his vehicle and earned him a Purple Heart Medal. Following his transition back into civilian life, Kevin experienced substantial difficulty with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Thanks to the help of very supportive friends and family, Kevin was able to take charge of his PTSD, manage symptoms, and return to a productive and fulfilling life. Kevin uses these stories to relate lessons of leadership, dedication, and determination through enthusiastic and engaging presentations.
This presentation will draw upon his experiences to show you how you can break down stigma’s and inspire you to overcome any discouragement especially with your new Wellness Expectations.
