This month we are giving back to Willow Falls
Willow Falls a local Senior Facility with a variety of care for its senior residents from Independent living to assisted living to memory care. At Willow Falls, they create activities and programs that are specifically designed to engage the residents in the five areas of wellness. They focus on physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual wellness. For the April luncheon, we are going to ask that each member purchase/make/have children or grandchildren make at least one greeting card for their residents. This card can be Happy Easter, Happy Spring, Thinking of You, or even just a Hello type card. Please write a little message in the card and you can sign it with Joliet Chamber of Commerce Council for Working Women. They currently have 100 residents at Willow Falls that would love a card from us.
As an extra treat for the residents…we are asking if you would like to donate some treat items it would be most appreciated. They can accept…
Prepackaged Sweets (such as Ho-ho’s, Twinkies, Cup Cakes, Honey Buns, Sweet Rolls, etc.)
Prepackaged Salty Snacks (such as Pringles, Bagged Chips, Individual Nuts)
Candy Bars (any kind but Kit-Kat and Regular Hershey’s seems to be a favorite)
Travel Size hand lotions/scented body wash
Mary Kay type samples

For centuries, we've known that the health of the brain and the body are connected. But now, science is able to provide insights into how to optimize our physical and cognitive health as we age. Join us to learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity, and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging.
