2023 CWW Lunch June 1: Overcoming Obstacles with Jonelle Carter
Topic: Overcoming Obstacles
Speaker: Jonelle Carter, a talented singer-songwriter, author, speaker, and coach from Morris, IL.
Jonelle's passion for music began at a young age, surrounded by a diverse range of art, music, and food in the Midwest. With a deep-rooted talent and a drive to help others, Jonelle has become a prominent figure in the personal development space.
In 2011, Jonelle was diagnosed with a rare type of parathyroid cancer that could have cost her voice. After undergoing surgery, her voice disappeared, and it took a year of hard work, therapy, and prayer to get it back. Today, Jonelle's voice is stronger than ever, and she is using her music to inspire women to find their own voices and live their best lives.
As a singer/songwriter, Jonelle has performed on countless stages, wowing audiences with her unique blend of soulful vocals and heartfelt lyrics, including the Keller Williams Realty Red Bash 2023 theme song "I'm A Conqueror". Jonelle is the author of "More Than A Country Song," a book that shares her inspiring story of resilience and perseverance. She continues to write, record, and perform music with her band, River Road Trio, and travels the country, empowering women to find their voices and achieve their dreams.
Jonelle has received numerous accolades, including the 2018 Power of Her Keynote Speaker in Wooster, Ohio, a 2021 Midwest Music Awards Video of the Year nominee, and four 2022 Josie Music Award nominations: Female Vocalist Of The Year, Band Of The Year, Entertainer Of The Year, and Single Of The Year.
Despite her many achievements, Jonelle remains grounded and approachable, with an infectious energy that lights up any room she enters. When she's not performing or coaching clients, she loves to travel and dine with those closest to her.
