Speaker: Dr. Clyne Namuo, President of Joliet Junior College and Dr. Ryan Hendrickson, President of University of St. Francis

Topic: The Future of Joliet Higher Education

Join us for an insightful conversation with Dr. Clyne Namuo, President of Joliet Junior College, and Dr. Ryan Hendrickson, President of the University of St. Francis, as they discuss the goals and vision for two of Joliet’s leading higher education institutions. Learn how new and proposed federal and state regulations may shape their strategies, challenges, and opportunities moving forward.

About the Speakers:

Dr. Clyne G. H. Namuo is the 10th President of Joliet Junior College, serving since 2022 with a focus on strengthening community ties, student success, and equity. His leadership has brought forward initiatives like the 12x12x12 Dual Credit Program, Future Wolves, and JJC’s designation as a Hispanic-Serving Institution. He also established the Namuo Family Endowed Scholarship to support first-generation students and remains active locally with organizations like the Joliet Rotary and Will County Center for Economic Development.

Dr. Namuo’s previous roles include interim president of Phoenix College and vice president of learning at South Mountain Community College. Nationally, he serves on the Advisory Committee of Presidents for the Association of Community College Trustees and holds leadership positions with the Higher Learning Commission. A published author and advocate for strategic, equity-focused education, he lives in Frankfort with his wife and five children.

Dr. Ryan C. Hendrickson, currently Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Eastern Illinois University, brings over 26 years of higher education experience in Illinois, including a decade in senior leadership roles. He has previously served as Dean of the Graduate School, Acting Dean of the College of Health and Human Services, and Acting Dean of Booth Library. Known for his relational and collaborative leadership style, he has driven innovative curriculum development, student success initiatives, and enrollment growth.

With a background in Political Science, Dr. Hendrickson was recognized with multiple teaching awards before moving into administration. He is also experienced in fundraising and community engagement. A practicing Catholic with a strong foundation in Catholic educational governance, he and his wife have three children who have all attended Catholic schools and universities.
