63rd Annual Meeting

63rd Annual Meeting

JOLIET – the Center for Disability Services will hold their 63rd Annual Meeting of the Corporation on Tuesday, November 6th beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the Center for Disability Services located at 311 S. Reed St., Joliet, IL.  Presentation of the Melvin J. Larson award will be announced at 6:30 P.M.  Guests are encouraged to stick around after the meeting for light refreshments during a small reception and tour of the latest classrooms and tour of the building.
The Center for Disability Services, founded in 1955, is dedicated to advancing the independence of people with disabilities. It operates from the former Reedswood Elementary School in Joliet and has four independent living homes located in Joliet, Shorewood and Wilmington.
Over the years, CDS’ programs and services have expanded to serve individuals with severe, multiple disabilities including intellectual disabilities, epilepsy, autism and other developmental disabilities. CDS provides its services in a seven-county area including Will, Kankakee, Grundy, Kendall, LaSalle, Ford, and Iroquois.
The following programs are offered: The Melvin J. Larson Education Center, Family Support Program, Respite Care Program, and Adult Services which includes developmental training and residential services.
