Healthcare in Disaster Situations: Your Voice Matters
series of upcoming community engagement meetings meant to educate Illinois residents and gather perspectives from the community on providing healthcare in emergency situations. These meetings, cosponsored by the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Chicago Department of Public Health, will be held throughout the State of Illinois in June and are intended to help inform the creation of guidelines to medical professionals regarding how to administer medical care in catastrophic situations. While education is an important component of these meetings, community participation is our primary focus. We are interested in hearing from all members of the Chicago community, especially those without prior professional knowledge of healthcare and emergency management. The meetings nearest to you takes place on Monday, June 26th in Joliet at 5:30 pm but are other meetings are scheduled in locations across the state. Click here to register for the meeting that best fits your schedule: https://disasterfeedback.eventbrite.com. Registration is free and we encourage anyone interested to register as soon as possible. If anyone would like to attend but does not have online access, I can be contacted via telephone below to register them. All of the meetings will include a light meal and a raffle for small prizes.
