NuMark Credit Union Announces President’s Club Winners

  JOLIET, Ill. – NuMark Credit Union is pleased to announce the five winners of the organization’s yearly President’s Club! Emma Valencia, Mateo Munoz Ocampo, Marina Mendoza, Laurie Veasy and Rachel Schubbe were all honored and given their awards at NuMark’s annual All Staff Training Day held on February 19, 2024.

“Giving out the awards for the President’s Club is something I always look forward to,” said Lloyd Fredendall, President and CEO of NuMark. “Our team members work so hard each day to deliver exceptional service to our members, it’s only right that they get recognized for their efforts.”

Emma Valencia started as a Member Service Representative in 2021 and worked her way up to the position of Teller Supervisor at the Plainfield branch. She’s had a great opportunity to truly shine in this new position and show off her exceptional leadership skills. One of her peers said that Valencia “has played a pivotal role in my development, offering guidance and support that has been instrumental to my success at NuMark.” Her work ethic and leadership skills earned her the Front Office Employee of the Year Award.

Mateo Munoz Ocampo works as a Card Services Specialist with the credit union and received the Back Office Employee of the Year Award. His peers see him as an outstanding teammate, with incredible patience and a positive attitude. Ocampo is also a member of NuMark’s DEI committee and will be celebrating his five-year anniversary with the credit union in July.

Marina Mendoza earned the Front Office Manager of the Year Award due to her incredible work as the Aurora branch’s Assistant Manager. Mendoza has a deep passion for NuMark’s mission and has been a strong leader for all the employees in her branch. Her peers noted that she “strives to embody our mission statement with each member interaction.” Her passion for NuMark is what has kept her at the credit union for five years and earned her this great honor at the organization.

Laurie Veasy started with NuMark in 2018, and returned in 2022 after a brief time away to take on the role of Vice President of Lending. Veasy is a consistently positive worker, and a great asset to the company and her team in the Lending Department. Her peers say she is “proud to represent NuMark in the community… [and] has definitely embraced the ‘where you are family’ brand.” Her love for NuMark in addition to her exceptional leadership and great energy earned her the Back Office Manager of the Year Award.

The final award that was given out that day was the Rookie of the Year Award, which is given to an employee who has worked for NuMark for less than one year and is honored for their contributions to the NuMark team. This year’s Rookie of the Year Award went to Rachel Schubbe, who is the manager for the branches in Earlville and Paw Paw.

Schubbe started with NuMark following the merger with Pioneer State Bank and has done an incredible job taking over the operations of the new branches. One of her peers said that she’s “so present to her team and other departments… She works hard and has demonstrated her effectiveness as a team player.”

“I was delighted to be able to present this year’s President’s Club awards, continuing a tradition that’s been around for over a decade at this company,” Fredendall said. “I really do hope that everyone who sees this news knows how hard all of our employees work, and that our team members feel valued and appreciated for all that they do.”
